PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte for alkali batteries and an alkali battery which allow superior charge and discharge cycle characteristics to be realized.SOLUTION: An electrolyte for alkali batteries comprises: a salt having a hydroxide ion conductivity; and water. As to the salt having a hydroxide ion conductivity, a molecular ion forms a cation, and a hydroxide ion makes an anion. An alkali battery comprises: a positive electrode; a negative electrode; and an electrolyte for alkali batteries. The electrolyte for alkali batteries includes: a salt having a hydroxide ion conductivity; and water. As to the salt having a hydroxide ion conductivity, a molecular ion forms a cation, and a hydroxide ion makes an anion. |
