PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external device that enables a user to easily find the position of a cursor even in the case of PinP display.SOLUTION: An external device (20) is provided with: coordinate acquiring means (23) that acquires coordinates of a PinP display image; determining means (22) that determines whether the position of a cursor is superimposed upon the PinP display image; and image correction means (24) that corrects an image provided to a display device if the position of the cursor is superimposed upon the PinP display image.
