PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water droplet holding sheet in which a water droplet adhered on the water droplet holding sheet does not wet and spread and also does not flow out.SOLUTION: The water droplet holding sheet has a minute projection structure having a minute projection group in which a plurality of minute projections formed of cured products of a resin composition are arranged in close contact with each other on at least one face of a substrate; has the average dof the distance between the adjacent minute projections of 50-500 nm; has a standard deviation &sgr;of the heights of the minute projections of 10-50 nm; and is formed by depositing compounds containing one or more atoms selected from a fluorine atom and a silicon atom by a chemical vapor phase treatment on the surface of the minute projection structure.
