PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid car in which starting of an engine is more appropriately determined in accordance with a travelling state of the car.SOLUTION: The hybrid car, when power Pv required by the car is equal to the threshold Pref1 or more and less than the threshold Pref2, calculates an excess integrated value Pov as an integrated value obtained by subtracting the threshold Pref 1 from the power Pv required by the car (S130); sets the threshold Pj for determination that has a tendency to become larger as car speed V becomes higher and a tendency to become larger as the power accumulation ratio SOC of a battery becomes larger (step S150); and when the excess integrated value Pov reaches the threshold Pj for determination or more, determines that an engine should be started (S170 and S190). This allows determination on starting of the engine to be more appropriately performed in accordance with the car speed V and the power accumulation ratio SOC of the battery. |
