<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability of a user in bringing and separating a developing roller close to/from an image carrier.SOLUTION: A developing unit 23 is rotatably supported by a support unit 30 around a rotation shaft A, and the support unit 30 is urged by a coil spring 50 in an approaching direction in which a peripheral surface of a developing roller 231 approaches a peripheral surface of a photoreceptor drum 211. In addition, a direction of rotation of a rotational driving force applied to a second coupling gear 73 via a drive output shaft of a drive unit 70 is selected to a direction to rotate the support unit 30 in the approaching direction. That is, the rotational driving force of the drive output shaft also supports the rotation of the support unit 30. Thus, a force to rotate the support unit 30 around the rotation shaft A can be shared by the urging force of the coil spring 50 and a thrust force associated with the rotation of a first coupling gear 71, and thereby operability of a switching mechanism 40 can be improved.</p> |
