PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress noises generated by irradiating an acoustic wave detector with light, in photoacoustic diagnosis.SOLUTION: A subject information acquisition device for use includes: an irradiation part that applies light from a light source; a detection part that receives an acoustic wave generated by the light applied to a subject, after the emission of the light from the irradiation part; an intensity reduction part that reduces intensity of the light applied to the detection part, after the emission of the light from the irradiation part; and a processing part that acquires information on characteristics of the inside of the subject by using the acoustic wave received by the detection part. |
