PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bank note handling apparatus and a bank note storing cabinet that can reduce abnormal stop potential of the apparatus and is improved in the handling ease for personnel in charge.SOLUTION: In a bank note handling apparatus equipped with a storing cabinet for storing bank notes deposited and to be withdrawn, the storing cabinet is provided with marker means having a partitioning member for dividing the stored bank notes between a first area and a second area and discharging means for discharging notes out of the storing cabinet. The marker means has the partitioning member in a position overlapping, in the stacking direction of the notes, the discharging means disposed in the first area.
