PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor and an input method capable of easily performing an input operation without using a keyboard or the like.SOLUTION: A control part 104 detects a contact position where a contact operation from a user has been accepted in a touch panel display 103. Then, the control part 104 displays character selection keys S1 to S10 at a display position in the touch panel display 103 corresponding to the detected contact position with an array determined in accordance with the contact position. Then, when the selection of, for example, the character selection key S1 among the character selection keys S1 to S10 is accepted by the control part 104, the control part 104 executes input processing based on the character selection key S1. Thus, it is possible for a user to freely perform the contact operation without being limited by the contact position of the touch panel display.
