Disclosed is a downward rotation power generating apparatus using a water wheel. The downward rotation power generating apparatus using a water wheel according to the present invention includes: the water wheel (2) which is installed in close proximity to a water gate (100), and which is rotated by the water flow by mounting a fixed portion to be flooded underwater; an acceleration section (4) for increasing the rotational force of the water wheel (2); and a power generator (6) which is connected to the acceleration section (4) for converting rotational energy into power to generate power. Therefore, the present invention is configured to rotate the water wheel by allowing impounded water with a stream of water to be gradually discharged without a fall in the river and by actively utilizing centrifugal force, thereby producing power from the rotating water wheel. |
