PURPOSE: A device and a method for forming a beam are provided to form the beam of an uplink and a downlink using current direction vector information and previous direction vector information. CONSTITUTION: A communication unit(210) transmits and receives a transmission signal. A direction vector estimator(220) estimates a first direction vector using the transmission signal. An inner product calculation unit(230) calculates a first inner product of the first direction vector and the second direction vector. A storage stores the direction vector for a switching beam. If the first inner product is above a critical value, a beam forming unit(260) forms the beam of the transmission signal using the fist direction vector. If the first inner product is below the critical value, the beam forming unit forms the beam of the transmission signal using the third direction vector. |
