PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer having a platen gap adjustment mechanism with a large gap adjustment amount.SOLUTION: The platen gap adjustment mechanism for adjusting a gap between a print head of a printer and a platen comprises: a movable side unit 100 capable of moving in a gap adjustment direction where the gap increase and reduces; a fixing side unit 80; a movable side rotation axis 101 mounted on the movable side unit; a fixing side rotation axis 83 mounted on the fixing side unit; and a free joint unit 90 connecting the fixing side rotation axis to the movable side rotation axis. One of the print head or the platen is mounted on the movable side unit 100. Compared with the case that rotation from the fixing side rotation axis toward the movable side rotation axis is transmitted via engagement of spur gears, a gap adjustment amount becomes larger. |
