<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminate with excellent optical properties which comprises a coated or uncoated paperboard coated with a coating comprising a polymeric binder, TiOand tetrapotassium pyrophosphate.SOLUTION: A laminate comprises a coated or uncoated paperboard; and a 5- to 35-μm thick layer of a coating adhering to the coated or uncoated paper or paperboard. The coating comprises (a) 3 to 25 wt.% of a polymeric binder; (b) 5 to 35 wt.% of TiO2; and (c) 0.1 to 2 wt.% of tetrapotassium pyrophosphate. The polymeric binder comprises vinyl acetate, vinyl-acrylic, styrene-acrylic, or styrene-butadiene polymer.</p> |
