PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a wire rod for a high-strength steel wire good in cold-drawability and also exhibiting prescribed high strength; a high-strength steel wire obtained from the wire rod for the high-strength steel wire; and a high-strength galvanized steel wire.SOLUTION: The wire rod for a high-strength steel wire contains each C:0.80 to 1.3%, Si:0.1 to 1.5%, Mn:0.1 to 1.5%, P:0.03% or less (excluding 0%), S:0.03% or less (excluding 0%), Ti:0.02 to 0.2%, Al:0.01 to 0.10% and N:0.001 to 0.006% and the balance iron with inevitable impurities and satisfies a relationship of the following (1) expression. 0.05%≥[Ti*]≥(0.0023×[C])...(1), where [Ti*]=(All Ti amount-compound-type Ti amount having a size of 0.1 μm or more and [C] represents the content of C (mass%). |
