PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load cell which can be made thinner.SOLUTION: A load cell includes: a strain body; a flexible substrate; and an external wiring. The strain body comprises: a load bearing portion for bearing loads; a supported portion supported by a support body; and a strain area coupled with the load bearing portion and the supported portion. The flexible substrate includes: strain gauges to be placed in the strain area of the strain body; and wiring connected to the strain gauge. The flexible substrate extends from the strain area to the load bearing portion or the supported portion, and the wiring of the flexible substrate is connected with the external wiring on the load bearing portion or supported portion at an inwardly recessed position in a thickness direction thereof.
