PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal print head which is made compact in a sub-scanning direction while increasing a protruding height of a portion where heat generation resistors are arranged, from the surface of a substrate.SOLUTION: A head substrate 20 of the thermal print head includes a ceramic substrate 22, a glaze layer 25, heat generation resistors 26, an electrode 28 and a protection film 29. The ceramic substrate 22 has a flat surface 80 and a protruding part 81 protruding from the flat surface 80 and linearly extending along the flat surface. The protruding part 81 comprises a flat top part 82 and a foot part 83 narrower than the top part 82. The glaze layer 25 coats the surface of the ceramic substrate 22 including the protruding part. The heat generation resistors 26 are arranged in a direction where the protruding part 81 extends to the surface of the glaze layer 25 at intervals. The electrode 28 is connected to both end parts of the heat generation resistors 26 to carry current to the heat generation resistors 26. The protection film 29 coats the heat generation resistors 26, the electrode 28 and the glaze layer 25. |
