<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy handling lash adjuster capable of automatically releasing an initial set state.SOLUTION: A cylindrical female thread member 23 is slidably inserted into a body 21 and a male thread formed at an outer periphery of a male thread member 29 is engaged with a female thread 28 formed at an inner diameter surface lower part of the female thread member 23. A torsion coil spring 33 is assembled between the female thread member and the male thread member to apply a torsion elastic force in a relative extending direction. There is provided lock means 50 for locking the female thread member under a state that it can be slid by a specified stroke between the female thread member and the body. A lower end outer periphery of the male thread member is provided with a first annular groove 61, a ring member 62 that can be elastically deformed in a radial direction is assembled, a lower part of an inner diameter surface of the body is provided with a second annular groove 63, the ring member is engaged with the second annular groove and the first annular groove to hold it at an initial set state in which the female thread member and the male thread member are shrunk and then the initial set state is released by applying a load of pushing force to the female thread member through oscillation of an arm when a cranking operation is carried out.</p> |
