PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generating system which can easily and positively detect destruction of a first device, and prevent the entire power generation system from being damaged.SOLUTION: A power generating system 1 comprises: a heat source 2 the temperature of which varies over time; a first device 3 in which temperature varies over time due to the temperature change of the heat source 2 and electric polarization is formed; a second device 4 for extracting electric power from the first device 3; a voltage application device 9 for applying a voltage to the first device 3; a detection device 21 for detecting destruction of the first device; and a control unit 10 for stopping the voltage application device 9 when the destruction of the first device 3 is detected by the detection device 21. |
