PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent disconnection, unexpected by a user, of communication connection and improve the convenience of the user in a thing with which a host apparatus and an image reader are able to connect.SOLUTION: When connection with a computer is detected in a state in which communication connection with a scanner is not established, a printer establishes communication connection such that the printer will operate as a single-functional printer for the computer, and when connection with the computer is detected in a state in which communication connection with the scanner is established, the printer establishes communication connection such that it will operate as a multi-functional printer for the computer. In addition, when connection with the scanner is detected in a state in which communication connection is established as the single-functional printer for the computer, the printer re-establishes communication connection as the multi-functional printer by rebooting itself once if a user permits, and maintains communication connection with the computer as it is if the user does not permit. |
