PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a photocatalyst composition used for manufacturing a photocatalyst body capable of inducing the manifestation of a super hydrophilizing function within a brief period following the irradiation thereof with lights having specified wavelengths and a method for manufacturing a photocatalyst body using the photocatalyst composition obtained by this manufacturing method.SOLUTION: At an amorphous titania dispersion generation step (s1), an amorphous titania dispersion wherein amorphous titania is dispersed within a carboxylic acid is generated by adding a titanium alkoxide to the carboxylic acid in an agitated state. At a mixture dispersion generation step (s2), a mixture dispersion wherein a mixture of amorphous titania and amorphous silica is dispersed within a solvent is generated by adding the amorphous titania dispersion and a silica sol to the solvent in an agitated state. At a photocatalyst composition generation step (s3), a photocatalyst composition wherein a composite photocatalyst obtained by supporting amorphous silica on crystalline titania is dispersed within the solvent is obtained by agitating the mixture dispersion within a temperature range of 70 to 80°C. |
