摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous material having high thermal shock resistance.SOLUTION: A porous material contains an aggregate and a composite binder where mullite particles serving as reinforcing particles are dispersed in glass serving as a binder and which binds aggregates to each other in a state of forming pores. Preferably, the lower limit and upper limit of the content of the composite binder are respectively 12 mass% and 50 mass% with respect to the total mass of the aggregate and the composite binder. Preferably, the glass contains MgO, AlO, and SiOand contains at least one compound selected from the group consisting of NaO, KO, and CaO.
