The apparatus has a first duct for transferring krypton and xenon enriched liquid (17) from a tank of an enrichment column (3) towards a hot purifying unit (9) to form a purified gas. A second duct transfers the purified gas from the hot purifying unit towards a heat exchanger (25). A third duct transfers the purified gas from the heat exchanger towards an upper part of a concentration column (13). A fourth duct extracts the liquid from a tank of the concentration column, and a fifth duct transfers a gas from a head of the concentration column towards the heat exchanger. An independent claim is also included for a method for extracting xenon and krypton from an air separation apparatus.
