The method involves establishing an overall electric load curve (Pt) of electrical installation of a subscriber during measurement time period (deltaT) (110). A time range of electric heating is determined (120) from the load curve. A curve of electric power consumed by the electric heating device is discriminated (130) during the time rage of electric heating from the general electric load curve. The power consumption of the electric heating device is estimated (140) from the discriminated electrical power curve and the time range of electric heating.
