摘要 Nominal voltage at the input to the appliance ( 2 ) shall be reduced by 3-20 % compared to the voltage of the public electricity network ( 5 ) . Intentionally by a voltage element ( 1 ) the voltage applied to the appliances ( 2 ) is reduced, in particular for lighting, at such level , which does not affect the functionality and life of the appliances ( 2 ) . The one energy voltage element ( 1 ) can be connected with more appliances ( 2 ) or each appliance may have its own voltage element ( 1 ) . Voltage element ( 1 ) may take the form of a transformer with galvanic separation , autotransformer or semiconductor switching voltage converter . The theoretical energy savings is between 5.7% ( at 3 % voltage reduction ) to 36 % ( with a 20% voltage reduction ) . Voltage element ( 1 ) can be placed in the switchgear ( 3 ) or elsewhere prior to the point of attachment of the appliance ( 2 ) , for example, in a socket or in a separate unit which is inserted into the socket . In a preferred embodiment may voltage reduction be managed according to the selected time curve. It may be a done by steps or by continuous changes.
