<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spark ignition engine which can reduce a content of a carbon hydride in an exhaust gas.SOLUTION: When assuming a central virtual line 15 passing through a squish area maximum portion 14 and the center of a combustion chamber recessed part 6 when viewed in an orientation parallel with a cylinder central axial line 13, and a one-side region a and the other side region b which are defined by the central virtual line 14, either of an intake valve port 9 or an exhaust valve 10 is opened in the one-side region 7a of an opposing part 7 of either of the mutual opposing parts 7, 8 of the combustion chamber recessed part 6, and an ignition plug attachment hole 11 is opened in the other side region 7b of the opposing part 7. By this constitution, a spark discharge part 16 at a tip of the ignition plug is arranged at a position in which the spark discharge part is not overlapped with the central virtual line 15 when viewed in an orientation parallel with the cylinder central axial line 13.</p> |
