PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-quality carbon nanocoil which suppresses generation of any unnecessary carbide, which can be easily separated from a carrier, and for which any residual material from the carrier is removed with ease, and to provide a production method of a catalyst for generating the carbon nanocoil, which can improve a yield of a raw material gas in generating the carbon nanocoil.SOLUTION: A production method of a catalyst 30 for generating a carbon nanocoil (hereafter CNC) containing Fe, C, In, and Sn includes: an alloying step to alloy a material formed by mixing electrolytic iron 1, carbon black 2, In metal powder 3, and Sn metal powder 4 by a mechanical alloying method 10. The CNC is generated by a thermal chemical vapor deposition (thermal CVD) method by using the catalyst solution 30 for generating the CNC produced by the production method. |
