Provided is a control device for a vehicle provided with an internal combustion engine, an oil pump that is driven by the engine and that pressurizes a hydraulic fluid, and a belt-type continuously variable transmission which is supplied with the hydraulic fluid that is pressurized by the oil pump. Gear shift control is performed by controlling the pressure of the hydraulic fluid supplied to the continuously variable transmission, and idle-stop for automatically stopping the engine is performed when a prescribed condition is satisfied. The gear shift history of the continuously variable transmission after the ignition switch of the vehicle is turned on is stored, and the prescribed condition for performing idle-stop is met when the gear shift history includes a prescribed gear shift history. |
