Proposed is a new method for appropriately calculating movement state information relating to a user. A movement direction speed calculation device (1) calculates the posture of an acceleration sensor (10), which is attached to the body of a user and detects acceleration, with respect to the user using a detection result obtained by an acceleration sensor (10) when the change of the detection result satisfies a predetermined peculiar condition, the detection result being represented by a local coordinate system associated with the acceleration sensor (10). Using the calculated posture, the device converts the detection result obtained by the acceleration sensor (10) at a time different from the time when the posture was calculated and at a time when the peculiar condition is satisfied into a mobile object coordinate system associated with the user. The device then calculates the speed in the movement direction of the user using the converted detection result. |
