A method and a device for allocating bandwidth, a user equipment and a base station are provided by the present invention. The method includes that a User Equipment (UE) receives at least one piece of virtual bandwidth configuration information (101), wherein, the virtual bandwidth configuration information is used for indicating configuration of virtual bandwidth, and the UE receives and/or processes signal according to at least one virtual bandwidth in virtual bandwidths indicated by the at least one piece of virtual bandwidth configuration information (102), wherein, each virtual bandwidth is a part of or all of the download maximum usable bandwidth or that of the download transmission bandwidth, and the download maximum usable bandwidth is the maximum bandwidth can be used for download transmission. With application of embodiments of the present invention, it is achieved that the overhead and the complexity of signal receiving and signal processing are reduced, and the overhead and the feedback complexity of signal receiving and signal processing can be controlled flexibly.
