PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an amount of transfer data in a communication interface which transfers an image to be synthesized to a main image.SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus comprises an image reception unit, a synthesis ratio acquisition unit, and a synthesis unit. The image reception unit receives a marked image including, together with a sub image, a marker pixel indicating a synthesis ratio between the sub image to be synthesized to the main image and the main image with a pixel value. The synthesis ratio acquisition unit acquires the synthesis ratio indicated with the pixel value of the marker pixel in the marked image. The synthesis unit synthesizes the sub image to the main image on the basis of the acquired synthesis ratio.
