<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-yield production method for glycerol carbonate acrylate compounds by reacting glycerol carbonate and acrylic acid ester compound without using basic catalysts or metal components, suitably applicable to a reaction using glycerol carbonate having an asymmetric carbon (isomer mixture) as a raw material.SOLUTION: A method for producing a glycerol carbonate acrylate compound of the following formula comprises a process in which glycerol carbonate and acrylic acid ester compound are reacted in the presence of a lipase to obtain a reaction fluid, and then the reaction fluid is brought in contact with a molecular sieve, where R2 is hydrogen or straight or branched alkyl of 1-4 carbons. According to this method, even when glycerol carbonate is a mixture of optical isomers (racemic form), not only one of the isomers but both isomers react so that the yield becomes nearly 100% to the glycerol carbonate used.</p> |
