An apparatus for bearing electrode plates, comprising an electrode plate box, a bracket, and gas nozzles, the electrode plate box being used for accommodating the electrode plates, and the lateral side of the electrode plate box being of a ventilating structure; the gas nozzles are positioned on the bracket and blow in the direction of the lateral side of the electrode plate box. The present invention also provides a corresponding method for bearing electrode plates. By blowing gas at the lateral side of a plurality of laterally limited electrode plates, the present apparatus and method for bearing an electrode plate allow stacked electrode plates to become dispersed and maintain a loose state, effectively reducing the likelihood of several plates being suctioned at once.
