I perceive a need for a better rifle carrying system for hunters that use ATV's during their hunting as well as for waterfowl hunters while taking into consideration the hunters need to get their rifle/shotgun into action fast. With that in mind I began working on a concept to produce a finished design unlike any other made before to fill that void. In the German army soldiers sometimes jury rigged a system to get into action quickly with their rifles or to help carry other gear. I originally heard this from hearsay and mentally logged the information, as I frequently do, for future reference. I had met an elderly German who had been in the German army. He gave me an idea based on something he had been shown in the army during the war, "World war one", so that he could carry his rifle while keeping his hands free to carry other things. Influenced by that idea I designed the now, "Quick draw rifle sling" which, although stemming from that idea, is unlike anything ever designed before and therefore completely unique. This design is nothing like the original idea which incorporated clips and wires. I have developed that old idea further into what I now have as the first product solely designed for carrying a rifle in this manner. This design is the first of its kind and will no doubt revolutionize the hunting industry. In my searches I have been unable to find any product that is even close to what I have designed therefore I believe this to be the first of its kind. The Quick Draw Rifle Sling is a cross between a rifle sling at the upper end and an open rifle rack on the lower end. A sling can be uncomfortable although fairly quick to use. A rifle display rack is easy to get a rifle out of quickly but you can't carry one on your ATV. Other carrying racks on quads or other ATV's keep the rifle securely in place and take some small time to get into action. That time can lead to missed opportunities or having one of your hunting partners make the shot first. All hunters want to be the one to put in that all too crucial first shot. Typical racks used today also make negotiating between tight forested areas difficult as the firearm tends to protrude too far out to the side, in some cases. The quick Draw Rifle Sling is carried around your neck by its strap and hangs down over your chest where it supports the lower, rack, portion of the sling. The rifle is set into the rack not attached to it yet is held securely by the rack and can be simply and quickly lifted out to aim and fire the rifle or shotgun. It can also be easily tipped from one side or the other with the elbows while driving the ATV allowing for easy clearance around tree's or other obstacles. The quick Draw Rifle Sling will allow hunters to carry their rifles/shotguns more safely than regular, across machine, racks as well. The Quick Draw Rifle sling is an adjustable rifle sling for carrying an unloaded firearm across the chest area while riding on an ATV and can be adjusted to individual length to allow the hunter, depending on height and preference to, carry the firearm in the rack of the "Quick Draw Sling". The sling is adjusted so that the open "rack" will be positioned just below the arm pits and the firearm is carried across the chest area while driving a quad or other ATV. In this position the firearm is carried safely and can be brought into action more quickly than any presently existing rifle carrying apparatus. Although the "Quick Draw Rifle Sling" is designed primarily for ATV hunters it can also be used comfortably by water fowl, and other hiking or foot traveling hunters. *NOTE* The herein mentioned system will also be applied to a smaller version of the same design for use in the sports fishing industry at a later date but will, by its very nature and design, need to fall under this, the same patent. |
