THORACIC SCOPE WITH SKIRT AND GAP A minimally invasive viewing instrument (100) including a cannula (2) configured and adapted to house a scope (7) having a lens (3). An attachment member (150) including a skirt member (4) is configured and adapted to maintain the lens (3) of the scope (7) at a distance away from the distal end of the skirt member (4) to minimize the potential of lens contamination. Moreover, the materials shape, and/or contours of the skirt member (4) is configured and adapted to divert the flow of bodily fluid away from the lens (3), thereby reducing the potential of lens contamination.
