PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To modify the surface of an artificial marble made of an unsaturated polyester resin to make the surface hydrophilic so as to facilitate cleaning of the surface of the artificial marble.SOLUTION: An artificial marble is obtained by molding an unsaturated polyester resin, and the unsaturated polyester resin consists of an unsaturated polyester blended with a hydrophilic agent which is formed by a polycondensation reaction of a raw material composition comprising an unsaturated dibasic acid (ingredient A), a saturated dibasic acid (ingredient B) a diol of chemical formula (1) (ingredient C) and a diol of chemical formula (2) (ingredient D). Chemical formula (1): HO-R1-OH. Chemical formula (2): H-(-O-CH-CH-)n-O-R2-O-(-CH-CH-O-)m-H. In the chemical formula (1), R1 is a 1-5C, branched or linear alkane, and, in the chemical formula (2), R2 is a 5-22C hydrocarbon; n and m are independently integers of 1-99; and n+m is 10-100. |
