PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the accuracy of calculating the degree of similarity between two contents on the basis of tags given to the contents.SOLUTION: A content similarity degree calculating apparatus comprises: a content tag storage unit that stores a plurality of contents to which tags are given; a content designating unit that inputs two contents to which tags are given; an inter-tag relevance degree calculating unit that calculates the degree of relevance on the basis of the tags given to the contents stored in the content tag storage unit; and a content similarity degree calculating unit that calculates the similarity degree between the two contents on the basis of the degree of relevance calculated by the inter-tag relevance degree calculating unit.
