The present invention is an electrode material for electricity storage devices, which is characterized by comprising: an active material (34, 36) that contains a quinone having a halogen group and/or hydroquinone; and a porous body (30, 32) that supports the active material. The present invention is also an electricity storage device which comprises: a positive electrode (10) that contains a positive electrode active material (34) that contains a quinone and/or hydroquinone and a positive electrode porous body (30) that supports the positive electrode active material; a negative electrode (12) that contains a negative electrode active material (36) that contains a quinone and/or hydroquinone and a negative electrode porous body (32) that supports the negative electrode active material; and an electrolyte (14) that is arranged between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The quinone and/or the hydroquinone contained in the positive electrode active material and/or the negative electrode active material has a halogen group.
