PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a carbon fiber-reinforced composite material with excellent abrasion resistance and impact resistance, and to provide the carbon fiber-reinforced composite material.SOLUTION: In a production method of a carbon fiber-reinforced composite material, carbon fibers to be a raw material and matrix materials (synthetic resin and carbide powder) are mixed together and molded, and after heat-treatment of the molded body, the carbon fiber-reinforced composite material is produced by impregnating the matrix with molten silicon. In the method: a step to mix and mold the carbon fibers to be the raw material and the matrix materials together so as to form the molded body, in which an amount of the carbide powder of 30-200 μm is set to be 10-60 vol.% based on the sum total amount of the matrix materials; a step to heat-treat the molded body at 500-2,000°C; and a step to impregnate the matrix with molten silicon by further heat-treating the molded body composed of the carbon fibers and the matrix (carbon) obtained by heat-treatment, are performed. |
