PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device that controls an electric drive system of an electric vehicle, which can reduce a risk that the vehicle starts unexpectedly without decreasing operability and convenience.SOLUTION: The control device for an electric drive system 10, which allows a vehicle to start only by a travelling motor 11 and is activated by a predetermined activation operation, comprises: driver detecting means 31 that detects whether or not a driver is seated on a driver seat; range selecting means 15 that selects the change gear ranges of a transmission; and control means 20A that when it is determined that the driver is not seated and the selected range is other than a parking range, performs a shut down control to terminate the activation state of the drive system 10. |
