<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image capturing apparatus and a method of controlling the same that are capable of obtaining an image with a wide dynamic range without using a special image sensor.SOLUTION: A face area of a subject is detected on the basis of an image obtained by image capturing, and luminance information based on luminance of the face area is generated. An image obtained by image capturing using an exposure condition determined on the basis of the luminance information is subjected to luminance correction on the basis of the luminance information used in determining the exposure condition.</p> |
