PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeder preventing a sheet from entering a paper feeding nip part due to mounting of a cassette to a device body, and to provide an image forming device including the same.SOLUTION: When a cassette 110 is mounted to a body housing 10, a sheet P is carried from a sheet storage part 110S of the cassette 110. The sheet P is carried to a sheet carriage direction along a mounting direction of the cassette 110. The cassette 110 includes a cassette rear wall 110C. The cassette rear wall 110C is a wall part disposed oppositely to the end edge on the downstream side of the sheet carriage direction of the sheet P stored in the sheet storage part 110S, and is disposed in an attitude inclined forwardly upward toward the downstream side of the sheet carriage direction. The upper end side of the cassette rear wall 110C is disposed with a separating pad 70 including a counter face facing to the end edge of the sheet P stored in the sheet storage part 110S.
