PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear shift operation device for a saddle-riding vehicle capable of improving operability of a change arm.SOLUTION: The gear shift operation device for a saddle-riding vehicle is provided with: a shift arm 41 that extends from a transmission shaft 37 and has a connection hole 60; and a change arm 42 that is arranged opposite to the shift arm 41, has one end pivotally supported rotatably to a vehicle body with a support shaft 43 and the other end attached to a pedal 47, and has an engagement piece 50 inserted into the connection hole 60. The connection hole 60 has: a first slide contact face 63 which slidably contacts the engagement piece 50 when pushing in the pedal 47; and a second slide contact face 64 which slidably contacts the engagement piece 50 when pushing up the pedal 47. Distance from the support shaft 43 to the first slide contact face 63 is set to be different from distance from the support shaft 43 to the second slide contact face 64.
