<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently generate lateral force to the inside in the vehicle width direction in a head-on collision such as a small overlap collision.SOLUTION: A vehicle front structure S has a widening bracket 20 in a front end part of a side member 12. A width dimension of a crush box 30 joined to a front end part of the side member 12 is made to substantially coincide with a width dimension of the front end of the side member 12 including the widening bracket 20. Thus, while receiving a collision load to the vehicle rear side by a front end part of the side member 12 and the widening bracket 20, collision energy of a vehicle 10 can be absorbed. Since the collision load is also transmitted to the widening bracket 20, bending force such as the front end part of the side member 12 falls in the outside in the vehicle width direction, acts on the side member 12. As a result of it, a vehicle rear side part rather than the front end part of the side member 12 strikes on a power unit P by bending so as to project to the inside in the vehicle width direction. Thus, the lateral force to the inside in the vehicle width direction acts on the vehicle 10.</p> |
