The present invention relates broadly to a method of digitally processing an audio signal. The sample rate of the audio signal may be increased from a predetermined sample rate to an increase sample rate using various techniques. For ease of understanding an audio signal may be represented by an impulse response produced by an impulse fed to a filter. Values of the impulse response are weighted using the various techniques of the preferred embodiments. With weighting the frequency response may be more indicative of an idealised smooth lowpass filter. The frequency response with weighting has a constant rate of change whereas the frequency response without weighting (shown in broken line detail) has a kink uncharacteristic of a smooth lowpass filter. |
