<p>The purpose of this invention is to improve the heat dissipation effect of a hollow poppet valve by separating, with a partition, a small diameter hollow portion in a valve shaft and a large diameter hollow portion in a valve head. A conical large diameter hollow portion (S1) in a head (14) of a hollow poppet valve and a small diameter hollow portion (S2) in a shaft (12) are separated by a partition, and both hollow portions (S1, S2) are each charged with an inert gas and a cooling material (19). The heat dissipation effect in the head (14) is increased by smoothly forming a powerful tumble flow by using the inertial force applied to the cooling material (19) in the hollow portion (S1), when opening and closing the valve (10), only for forming the tumble flow. The partition (15) compensates for a reduction in the bending and torsion strength of the valve shaft (12).</p> |
