摘要 <p>Provided is an illumination device capable of securing sufficient illuminance while reducing energy consumption, and securing a thin shape while maintaining a low drive voltage. Two circuit boards (CB) are formed and are connected in series, and in each circuit board (CB), groups of two LED chips (CP) connected in parallel are connected in series to each other while pads (PD) are connected at both ends. With this configuration, by having the wiring (HN1) for applying drive voltage and the wiring (HN2) for making a connection between the circuit boards (CB) connect to different pads (PD), the pad area can be kept small while limiting the number of pads to four. Further, since the amount of light by the LED chips (CP) is a constant amount on average for each parallel section, uneven illuminance can be suppressed. Also, if the voltage required for one LED chip (CP) is 6 V, the total drive voltage will be 24 V, and thus the drive voltage can be kept low in comparison to the configuration of a comparative example.</p>
