PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy and inexpensive method capable of protecting a protection object in a desired thickness and a desired height and provide a cylindrical structure used in the method.SOLUTION: A method for protecting an object comprises surrounding a protection object by a cylindrical structure composed of geogrid, and injecting buffer material between the cylindrical structure and the protection object. A cylindrical structure is provided for usage in the method. The protection object is preferably a nonradioactive movable or immovable object.
