<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a common interface in a library device.SOLUTION: A library device connectable to an external controller comprises: a recording medium storage unit for storing multiple recording media; multiple data recording/reproducing units for recording data in the recording medium or reproducing the data; a recording medium transport unit for transporting and delivering the recording media between the recording medium storage unit and the data recording/reproducing units; and a connection unit for communicating with the external controller and connecting the data recording/reproducing units with the recording medium transport unit in order to control the library device. When the connection unit has a first connection mode and a second connection mode different from the first connectin mode, the control unit transmits a control instruction based on the first connection mode to the connection unit, and the connection unit converts the received control instruction based on the first connection mode into a control instruction based on the second connection mode and performs control.</p> |
