A method and an apparatus for processing a handover of a terminal in a mobile communication system are provided. The method includes determining, by a source evolved-NodeB (eNB), a handover of a User Equipment (UE) to a target eNB, obtaining information about content transmitted to the UE from a source cache server connected to the source eNB over a backhaul network, and transmitting the content information to a target eNB.

1. A method for processing, by a source evolved-NodeB (eNB), a handover of a user equipment in a mobile communication system, the method comprising:
determining the handover of the user equipment to a target eNB; requesting information about content transmitted to the user equipment from a source cache server connected to the source eNB over a backhaul network; transmitting a handover request message, comprising the content information received from the source cache server, to the target eNB; and receiving a response message corresponding to the handover request message from the target eNB.
