User equipment (UE) for transmitting and receiving data in a proximity service notifies a server of positional information in advance. In cases when the proximity service is started, the UE, prior to performing a proximity search for UE with which to communicate, receives, from the server, a proximity range including UE with which to communicate, and searches for UE with which to communicate, on the basis of the proximity range. As a result, unnecessary proximity searches are inhibited. |
