The intention is to provide a possible way of enabling a wheelchair to move in order to travel on uneven, soft or loose underlying surfaces, for example on cobbles, or paths covered with sand or gravel, and to move in a steerable fashion. This is achieved in that a steering means (3) is used in the form of a caterpillar (4), comprising a caterpillar holder (42) on which running gear (41) with at least two running rollers (410) and at least one guide roller (411), surrounded by an enclosed caterpillar track (40), is arranged, wherein the caterpillar (4) is mounted so as to be rotatable about a rotational axis (L), and, by means of a steering head adapter, can be attached directly to a steering head, to an existing steering wheel by means of a steering wheel adapter or to an existing steering wheel holder by means of a steering wheel holder adapter, and the caterpillar (4), instead of a steering wheel, can assume the steering function during the propulsion of the wheelchair. |
